About Brew 42
Conceived at the turn of the century by three shiftworkers from Collie, Brew 42 was inspired by Allen Shaw’s perpetual desire to create the perfect beer.
After many hours of brewing, testing, reviewing and modifying, not to mention, building the 1200 litre brewing system and tasting rooms, it became clear that the answer to the perfect beer is 42.

The brewery was custom designed and built by the three founders in McManus Road, Allanson, 5 kilometres west of Collie in the South-West of Western Australia. It opened on March 17 2007 (St Patrick’s Day), offering tastings and package beer purchases to the general public.
In 2011 Allen and Chris retired and, with Andrew as Chief Brewer, Brew 42 continued to brew the same quality beer in Allanson, in partnership with the Lake Clifton Tavern.
In 2017, Andrew became the sole owner of Brew 42, supplying beers to various venues, which included Swan Valley Brewery until its own brewery was commissioned in March 2021
With respect for the environment, we prefer to minimise packaging, wherever possible, by distributing our beers in kegs or growlers.
